Lots of people want to get healthy. They want to do better by their body and live longer and all those good things. But too often, they just don't know how to get started! Thankfully, I’ve put together a list of a few foods that should put you on the right track.
Spinach The first food on our list is spinach. Not only is it available pretty much everywhere and year-round but it can be a part of any meal. For breakfast, try putting it in a smoothie! For lunch, slide it on the sandwich as a lettuce replacement (nothing against lettuce). And for dinner, prepare it as a side salad! The possibilities are endless and so are the benefits. Spinach is a rich source of omega-3's and folate; folate can reduce the risk of heart disease, strokes and osteoporosis. It also protects you against age-related sexual issues, so you can enjoy your life as long as possible! Tomatoes Next on our list is tomatoes! Now, this is the only fruit on our list but it's much more than a sweet treat. Red tomatoes provide the best health benefits by reducing the risk of cancer and certain coronary disease. In order to increase your intake, you don't really have to get too creative because tomato is in a lot of things we use. Just try increasing your usage of those products like tomato paste and ketchup: I know it sounds weird but it really works! Carrots Lastly, we have carrots! Suggested intake is a ½ cup per day which is it much but you get a lot out of it. Carrots contain carotenoids which reduce the risk of cancer and other inflammatory conditions; you can eat them in a lot of ways, including raw as long as they're washed. Try them in a carrot cake! The great thing about these healthy foods is that you can get very creative with them so look up some recipes, try them out, and let me know which ones are your favorites down below!
